My middle name should be decision-maker

Clearly we all know that is false.  And I'd like to say that I've been more decisive when it comes to planning the wedding, but that would just be a lie.  Being less than a year out, we've already had to make some decisions, and while I feel great about them, they certainly weren't easy.  The only easy decision was saying yes to marrying John (awwww).

The first four months were spent enjoying the excitement of being engaged and delaying the stress of making decisions.  Fredericksburg v. Charlottesville, indoor v. outdoor, etc.  We must have visited 8 or more reception venues (I'm surprised John didn't call it off then) and went back and forth on what location would be best.  They were all GREAT, but ultimately we chose a vineyard in Charlottesville, and it's perfect.

So the date is set - August 27, 2011, we got the UVA chapel in the lottery, and we're looking forward to a wonderful wedding weekend in Charlottesville.  Date - done, location - done, reception venue - done, photographer - done, band - done.  Booyah!  Don't say I never make decisions. :)

We're so excited and feel its so fitting for us as a couple - we love Charlottesville and we love wine.  Not to mention King Family was the the last stop on our wine tour before getting engaged (more to come on that story later)!  In the meantime, here's a sneak peek of the beautiful reception location...

I've taken a little break from the wedding planning recently, but it's time to get back on my "A" game.  I'll keep yall updated on the progress until we get the actual wedding website up and running (ahem, John).  Up next, engagement pics in a few weeks!

So fresh and so clean

Last weekend we gave Tucker his first bath (well his first bath at our place, lets hope he's had a bath before that).  Can't say that he loved it, but he took it like a champ.  Here he is pre-bath.  Poor guy, he has no idea what's about to happen...

He may look fluffy, but there's not much under that hair.  It's actually quite pathetic looking.

Looking reeeaal good on a Saturday morning

Our little drowned rat

All done!  Now wasn't that exciting?? :)
Perhaps you all have Tucker overload (although I dont' know how that's possible).  But don't worry I'm going to switch it up next time.

Hail to the Redskins!

Here's a pic of Tuck and I ready to go in our Skins gear on Sunday before the big game against Dallas!

Our friend Kyle has awesome seats (7 rows back in the end zone) and I was lucky enough to get to go with him to the season opener against the Cowboys.  What a great game!!  The atmosphere in the stadium was crazy and the game was so exciting.

Warm up at FedEx Field
Love the gold pants!
Kickoff
At the end of the game I even got to slap hands with some of the players walking back through the tunnel - you know, no big deal.  One player even handed me his towel, which was awesome, and it was clean so that was an added bonus.  Clearly he did not play much, but whatever, it's still cool.  All in all it was a GREAT game!  Lets hope the Skins can keep it up this season...

He's heeeerree...

And running our lives.  You all have fair warning - these may be the cutest puppy pictures ever!  (I'm not bias or anything I promise).

We picked up our new puppy, Tucker, over Labor Day weekend.  I was super excited, and clearly not ready for what was about to happen.  So anyone who wants to say "I told you so", feel free to chime in.  Here are some pics from the first few days.  He was about 3.5 pounds when we picked him up.
Pit stop on the way home

I'm in love - He looks sweet and innocent now :)

Bonding on the way home - he insisted of burrowing behind my head

I think he had a few lonely nights at first, but he is settling right in.  He fooled us with his sweet nature and cuddliness at first, and then turned into a 4 pound terror biting and barking around day 3.  Verrry sneaky, Tucker!  I seem to take a lot of pictures of him sleeping, probably because that's when he's not biting me. :)

He's very good at helping with the laundry

The real reason I got a puppy - to snuggle
Being cute is hard work

He is 11 weeks old and already seems much bigger than when we first brought him home 10 days ago.

My boys :)

He is DEFINITELY testing our patience (not that either of us had a ton to begin with), but he's a great new addition!

St. Michael's

John and I had a great trip to St. Michael's, MD!  I didn't know much about the place before going there - other than that parts of the movie Wedding Crashers was filmed there :).  It's a neat little town and a great quick getaway from DC.  Picking grabs, getting massages, and going for a sail - yes please!  Here are some pics from our trip (and possibly our last trip for a while since a certain ankle biter now runs our lives)!

Starting vacation off right - wine tasting at St. Michael's winery!
The weather was great (but hot), so we rode bikes around the town.  Someone may or may not have had a little bike incident prior to this picture.  We won't talk about that...(no, shockingly it wasn't me).
We ate great, went to the local brewery for a tasting and tour, and John caught up on Real Housewives of New Jersey - he's a big fan haha.

We also had a sunset sail on one of the oldest skipjacks.  It was interesting to say the least.  The captain was quite the story-teller, and he insisted that I steer the boat back into the harbour.  Bad idea.  As you can see, I was terrified...but the sunset was pretty.

We finished our trip picking crabs with a pitcher of beer - doesn't get much better than that!

Crabcakes and football - that's what Maryland does!

Hello, Goodbye Summer

Wow, I can't believe summer is already over!  It definitely went too fast, but I'm ready for some cooler (less humid) weather.  We had quite the crazy end to our summer.  The last weekend in August we went down to VA Beach for one of my best friends' housewarming party, then came back to DC and left the next day for a few days of vacation in St. Michaels, MD.  We ended summer this weekend by picking up our new puppy, Tucker!!  More posts to come about the vacation, and of course Tucker will have his own post (lets be honest, probably several).  I hope everyone had a great summer!
